Welcome to the Mason Group website.  Mason group members focus on the synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of molecules and materials with catalytic applications, with a specific interest in the chemistry aluminum and, more recently, iron.  Aluminum is the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust and iron is the second most abundant metal.  Our interest in the chemistry of these metals coincides with our increasing focus on applications of green chemistry and green engineering.
